PUBLIC HEALTH EXTREME EVENTS RESEARCH

The Public Health Extreme Events Research (PHEER) network serves as the coordinating platform for the public health disaster research community of practice. PHEER advances the field of public health disaster science by supporting and coordinating a community of practice that can mobilize rapidly to conduct time sensitive disaster investigations, and builds the capacity of the current and future public health disaster research workforce through training, experiential learning, and mentorship.
GLOBAL URBAN COASTLINE INITIATIVE

The Global Urban Coastline Initiative will develop a network of trans-disciplinary scholars from across NYU to focus on the generalizable systemic climate, social, and economic stressors that threaten human health in some of the world’s most important coastline cities. The global urban coastline cities will serve as a living laboratory of use cases for our network of scholars to explore the ways that systems intersect to promote resilience or to accentuate vulnerability.
